What's happening this week!!


NOTE - The CALENDAR will be updated with all of our events both Marching Band Rehearsals, Fundraiser Events, Competitions, Fall Games, and Bands Boosters Meetings. "Thank You" to all parents and alumni for coming together and volunteering for our 1st Home Game. Although, the Game was cancelled and our Marchers didn't get to performed due to the weather! We look forward to volunteering with you again at our next event.

Concession Stand Volunteers Needed!!

Are you new to MVHS Bands Boosters and/or Returning members that would like to know how the Concession Stand flows? Come out and join us tomorrow night 6 pm at the MVHS Varsity Field Hockey game against Hayfield HS. Tomorrow's game would be another great opportunity to ease yourself into volunteering. 2nd MVHS Varsity Football Home Game of the season!!

MV Majors will be playing against Westfield High School - Bulldogs. In addition to Friday's game, The MVHS Athletic Booster Clubs invite you to a FREE Tailgate Party and "Meet the Boosters''! The tailgating will be located in the Driver's Ed parking lot to show our school spirit before the game starts. More details to follow regarding our Marchers' schedule. We are currently seeking a Concession Stand Chair.

The Concession Chairperson will manage and stock concession stands at the MVHS Football Stadium. The Concession Chairperson will be responsible for opening the Concession Stand at least an hour before the start of all Home Game Events - Varsity, Jr. Varsity, and Freshman Home Football games, and Field Hockey Home games as well as other events sponsored by MVHS Band Boosters i.e Concert Concessions & Winter Color Guard Competition event.

TAG Day is the biggest Band fundraiser of the year and will be held on Saturday, September 14th.  We need every Parents and students' participation to be successful. For those new to the program, and those seeking a bit more info:


 What is TAG Day?

TAG Day is a fundraiser used by most VA schools, our MVHS community come to expect the “Door Knock” in early September. Students don their marching uniforms (will be clarified as we near the date) and canvas the local Mount Vernon neighborhoods to solicit TAX DEDUCTIBLE contributions to support the band program. The MVHS community's generosity in previous years made it possible to replace our ATV (used to transport field show equipment to every performance, as well as New Uniforms. Funds this year will be applied to: Musical instrument purchases, purchasing field show props and equipment. *Funding of our Winter Guard program. We are also planning in the near future to purchase a trailer, in order not to have to rent to transport instruments.


How can I help?

Do you have a car that can accommodate 4 people comfortably?

If yes, then being a TAG Day Driver is your calling!
